The “Guru of Gospel” Tony Backhouse is back!

Heaven Bent’s next big concert will feature guest soloist and inspirational ‘guru of gospel’ Tony Backhouse.

Tony Backhouse inspired the formation of Heaven Bent in 1996 when a group of people who had attended his Auckland gospel singing workshop decided to meet regularly on a Tuesday night to continue to sing gospel.

Since then Tony has continued to work with Heaven Bent while inspiring thousands of people to sing gospel music with his workshops, gospel tours and performances in many parts of the world.

Now resident in New Zealand after many years in Australia, Tony continues his busy international schedule.

Members of Heaven Bent feel especially privileged and excited not only to have this inspirational musician based back in our city, but to have him perform as our special guest soloist in what promises to be a truly amazing concert.
